HMR Group recognizes the rapidly increasing generation of trailing edge technology products and E-Waste (electrical and electronic waste) as a global environmental problem. This occurs due to technology innovation and fast changing customer preferences, resulting in rapid obsolescence of products and equipment.
HMR is one of the leading providers of services for the proper treatment of surplus or expired goods in an environmentally sound manner: reselling, refurbishing or de-manufacturing--through to prescribed recycling--achieving minimal or no disposal to landfill. The HMR Stewardship Program is the execution of these processes.
HMR's Stewardship Program is the policy of physically steering items to the appropriate division of the Group for remarketing to new buyers or licensed recycling partners, thereby avoiding disposal to landfill. Our Stewardship is concerned with returning end-of-life products and by-products back to production processes, yielding maximum value and minimum wastage.
HMR operations focus both on the downstream life of equipment/products, as well as upstream initiatives promoting Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Design for the Environment (DfE). These are seen as potential advantages for the company, allowing modular repair for remarketing as well as ease of de-manufacturing.
While HMR provides responsible solutions to a global problem, our Stewardship policy also recognizes the needs of the company's stakeholders: customers, employees, partners, government and the environment.
